On September 7 AVTOVAZ held the traditional International Supplier Conference attended by 400 representatives of companies from Russia and friendly states. The event was held in the presence of Minister of Industry and Trade Albert Karimov and AVTOVAZ President Maksim Sokolov.

The goal of the Supplier Conference was to sum up join work results over the last year and confirm cooperation plans for the upcoming years including new products’ announcement and updating of cooperation’s commercial aspects. To date AVTOVAZ pool has about 500 partners carrying out direct supplies to conveyor, as well as over 1400 sub-contractors. Component industry serving the interests of AVTOVAZ Company offers in total around 1 million jobs.

In spite of an ever increasing sanctions pressure, economic difficulties, logistic chain breaks, growing man-power deficit, AVTOVAZ’s achievement in 2022-2023 has been the provision of stable work due to regular supplies of necessary components from majority of vendors. Jointly with partners, the Company has been carrying out work on strengthening the LADA brand sovereignty, key components and necessary materials localization. As of today, the work on one thousand components and materials has been successfully completed.

Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade Albert Karimov: “One of the main priorities of our joint work is the development of in-house component production. Corresponding tasks are mentioned in the Russian Auto Industry Development Strategy. The state support measures including the program of the Industry Development Fund “Autocomponents”, subsidizing R&D costs, subsidizing reengineering costs are aimed at this work as well. Jointly with the industry community, we continue working on further strengthening of these measures – in particular, commencing 2024 the “Technological Development Agency” will launch a separate sub-program “Auto components” with increased grant sum. We also support the wide industry cooperation, which will result in increased component output due to scale effect”.

AVTOVAZ President Maksim Sokolov: “AVTOVAZ has ambitious tasks to increase new car output, contain prices and produce new models in 2024-2025. The achievement of these tasks directly depends on every partner of our company and his ability to provide non-stop supplies of needed components in due time and of high quality. The Russian auto market development in 2023 and our plans to launch new models, including with new Eastern partners, show that it’s time to invest in in-house development like AVTOVAZ does, and an essential role in this process will play the development of own engineering departments by suppliers. I’m sure we will successfully overcome this turbulent period and will reach technological sovereignty of the Russian auto industry”.
