We are grateful for the all-round support we get for this project personally from Chairman of the BoD at AVTOVAZ Denis Valentinovich Manturov, relevant Ministry, shareholder, Governor of St. Petersburg Alexander Dmitrievich Beglov and City Government represented by Vice-Governor Kirill Valentinovich Polyakov and Chairman of Industrial Policy Committee Kirill Alexandrovich Soloveichik. Our city’s share in Russian car production was around 20%”, Alexander Beglov commented. He noted that production line at the AVTOVAZ’s St. Peterburg site was launched in the shortest possible time. “Nobody believed this was possible to do, but we’ve done it. Thanks to such projects, the auto industry will remain one of the basic branches of the St. Petersburg industry”, head of the Northern Capital stressed.
As part of the LADA X-cross 5 pre-production at the site in Saint Petersburg, equipment, including main production line, as well as inbound logistics and assembly processes were upgraded in the shortest possible time. Pilot car batch to train personnel and test technology was produced. Most of the preparatory work was done by employees of the LADA Saint Petersburg plant.
