LADA keeps leadership on the Russian market

In the first half of 2021, 200,219 LADA passenger cars and LCVs were sold in the Russian Federation, which is 51% more than in the first half of 2020. LADA market share amounted to 23% (+2.1 pts to H1 2020), which is the best result for the past 10 years.

Among them, 72,287 LADA Granta (+42.8% to H1 2020), 57,031 LADA Vesta (+17.4% to H1 2020), 26,702 LADA Largus (+38.7% to H1 2020) and 30,317 cars of the Niva family (+55.4% to H1 2020, including Niva cars produced by LADA West) were sold.

More than 25% of the total LADA sales volume was accounted by corporate sales. In the first half of 2021, corporate customers purchased 50,549 LADA cars of all models (including special modifications made by PSA VIS-AUTO JSC and LADA Sport LLC), which is by 49% higher than a year earlier, and by 31% higher than in the first six months of 2019.

LADA Granta became the bestseller among corporate sales: 13,882 cars were sold in the first half of the year (+34% to H1 2020). LADA Largus is in the second place with a result of 13,554 cars (+48%). 10,332 LADA Vesta cars were sold, including 984 bi-fuel LADA Vesta CNG (+46%). The result of sales of the Niva family is 10,843 cars (+66%, including Niva cars produced by LADA West).

``Overall growth of car sales in the Russian market in the 1st half of the year is 37% compared to the 1st half of 2020. During the rest of the year, sales will mostly depend on supply opportunities due to the current situation with a global shortage of electronic components. We also see some uncertainty regarding consumer demand in Q4 - it will depend on the preferable resumption of the government support measures. In general, we believe that the results of 2021 can be even higher than forecasted 10% growth to 2020 – the market might exceed 1.8 mln cars”, - said Nicolas Maure, President of AVTOVAZ JSC.
