AVTOVAZ President Nicolas Maure was in Kazakhstan with the first working visit

    The President of JSC AVTOVAZ Mr. Nicolas Maure was in Kazakhstan with the first working visit during which he had the meetings with the Prime Minister of Kazakhstan Mr. Karim Masimov, the Head of Eastern- Kazakhstan region Mr. Danial Akhmetov and BIPEK AVTO—ASIA AVTO Group BOD Chairman Mr. Anatoly Balushkin.

    Mr. Maure got acquainted with the operation of car assembly plant ASIA AVTO in Ust-Kamenogorsk city which will be expanding its operation from current 4x4 to Lada Grantam Kalina and Priora in the coming weeks. He was also presented with the project of the future full cycle plant going on a new greefied site in the same city. Here from the beginning of 2016 there is good progress in the activities related with electric networks, heat and water supply, construction of the roads and railways infrastructure.

    This new manufacturing plant will be the largest production site of LADA vehicles outside Russia. From opening which is currently planned for 2018 the plant will be capable to produce up to 60 thousand cars per year with the possibility of a further capacity increase up to 120 thousand in the following years

    The finishing part of Mr. Maure`s visit was the meeting with the Prime Minister of Kazakhstan Mr. Karim Masimov which took place in Astana. In the meeting the parties discussed the current status of the automotive markets in Kazakhstan and Russia and possible ways to increase LADA presence in Kazakhstan and other countries in Central Asia.

    In the meetings AVTOVAZ President highlighted the special importance of Kazakhstan projects of the company in the implementation of the strategic plans on CIS and far abroad countries. ''Partnership with BIPEK AVTO—ASIA AVTO'' is very important for AVTOVAZ because Kazakhstan is the largest export market for LADA today. We are interested in quick implementation of the common projects and with this purpose I intent to visit the production site, being constructed in Ust-Kamenogorsk, on regular basis. I appreciate the support provided to our common project by Kazakhstan Government,'' – Mr. Maure highlighted.

    To be reminded that with 2015 results AVTOVAZ confirmed its status of the most successful player on Kazakhstan automotive market. LADA share was 28% of sales of all new passenger cars.
